The 6th International Biology Conference (IBOC) and the 2nd International Conference on Biodiversity: Sustainable Solution for Human Welfare (ICOBIODIV 2023) were two prominent scientific events held in Surabaya, Indonesia, aimed at promoting collaboration and innovation in the biological sciences. IBOC, hosted by the Department of Biology at Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), focused on a broad spectrum of themes such as coastal conservation, green technologies, biomolecular science, genetics, marine environments, and bioinformatics, emphasizing sustainable development and environmental stewardship. Meanwhile, ICOBIODIV 2023, organized by the Department of Biology, Universitas Airlangga in a hybrid format, centered around biodiversity and its role in human welfare. It covered areas like microbiology, zoology, ecology, and biotechnology. Both conferences featured international speakers and provided valuable platforms for researchers and professionals to share insights and solutions for global environmental and biological challenges. furthermore, selected papers in both conference were published in Scopus-indexed proceedings.

Recently, the International Biology Conference (IBOC) and International Conference on Biodiversity (ICOBIODIV) unified into new name International conference of Bioscience, Biodiversity and Biotechnology (ICBBB) represent a powerful convergence of biological science, environmental sustainability, and human welfare. Together, they offer a comprehensive platform that bridges fundamental and applied research—ranging from biomolecular science, genetics, and bioinformatics to biodiversity conservation, biotechnology, and ecosystem health. By engaging global experts, facilitating interdisciplinary dialogue, and addressing both environmental and societal challenges, these conferences amplify the role of biology in supporting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Their combined efforts foster regional and international collaboration, contribute to science-based policymaking, and inspire innovative solutions rooted in scientific research. The publication of selected papers in Scopus-indexed proceedings further enhances their academic impact and global visibility, solidifying their role as key events advancing the future of life sciences and sustainable development.
